17 maart 2024 'De gelijktijdigheid van binnen en buiten' is een gesprek over hoe je als onderzoeker zowel binnen als buiten instituten als de universiteit en het museum kan begeven. Hoe kan je ruimte vinden om te experimenteren? Het gesprek begint met een bespreking van het boek 'Death of the artist' van Nicola McCartney, waarin zij nadenkt over het anders vormgeven van het kunstenaarschap om daarmee kritiek op aspecten van het kunstinstituut te geven. Wij voelen ons zeer verwant aan deze affirmatieve benadering en denken aan de hand van dit boek na over onze eigen positie ten opzichte van instituten.

 

March 17th 2024'The Simultaneity of Inside and Outside' is a conversation about how as a researcher one can move both inside and outside institutions such as the university and the museum. How can you find space to experiment? The conversation begins with a review of Nicola McCartney's book "Death of the Artist," in which she reflects on reimagining the artist's practice in order to critique aspects of the art institution. We feel a strong affinity for this affirmative approach and, using this book, reflect on our own position in relation to institutions.
